Our Privacy Commitment
At Try Swiss Knife, we believe your data belongs to you. We're committed to transparency about what we collect and why.
What We Collect
Analytics Data (via Cloudflare Analytics):
- Anonymous usage statistics (pages visited, referring sites)
- Device type and browser information
- General location (country level only)
- Performance metrics (page load times)
This data is anonymized and cookie-free. It helps us understand how people use our tools so we can make them better.
Account Data (only if you create an account):
- Your email address
- Plan data you choose to save to the cloud
Creating an account is entirely optional — see the section below for full details.
What We Don't Do
- No mandatory accounts: All tools work fully without signing up — accounts are an opt-in feature only
- No personal data storage without an account: If you don't create an account, nothing you create ever leaves your device
- No selling data: We never sell your data to third parties or advertisers
- No cross-site tracking: We don't track you across other websites
How Our Tools Work
By default, all your data stays on your device:
- Trip plans, budgets, study schedules, counters — all stored locally in your browser
- Nothing you create is sent to our servers unless you explicitly save it to the cloud
- You can use all tools completely offline after initial load
- Clear your browser data = all your local tool data is gone (keep backups!)
Optional Accounts & Cloud Data
You can create a free account to unlock features like cloud save, cross-device sync, and quick sharing. If you do:
- What we store: Your email address and any plan data you choose to save to the cloud
- Why: To provide the account features you signed up for — and potentially more in the future
- Legal basis: Your explicit consent, given when you create your account
- Retention: Your data is kept until you delete your account
- Sharing: We never share your account data with third parties
- Data controller: Try Swiss Knife (contact@tryswissknife.com)
You can withdraw consent and delete your account — along with all associated data — at any time from within the app.
Optional AI Features
Some tools offer an optional AI assistant (e.g. AI trip planning). AI features are opt-in twice over: they require a signed-in account, and each request needs your explicit consent. If you never use them, nothing changes for you.
- What is sent: Only when you explicitly submit an AI request, the form fields and prompt text shown to you in the preview are sent to Google's Gemini service to generate the result. The preview shows exactly what will be sent — nothing else is included.
- Third-party processing: Google processes this data under its own terms and may use it to improve its services. Do not include sensitive personal information in AI prompts.
- What we store: We do not store your prompts or the AI's responses on our servers — only anonymous usage counters (for the free daily limits) and the timestamp of your consent.
- What the AI decides: In tools like the Exam Planner, study-time targets are calculated by the app from your settings — not by AI. The AI only decides which subject goes into which time slot, using your exam dates to place sessions before each exam.
- Withdrawing consent: Untick the consent checkbox in the AI popup at any time — as easy as granting it.
Third-Party Services
Cloudflare Analytics: We use Cloudflare's privacy-first analytics to understand how our tools are used. Unlike traditional analytics, Cloudflare Analytics:
- Does not use cookies or track individual users
- Does not collect personal information
- Provides aggregated, anonymous metrics only
- Complies with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations by default

Your Rights
- Local data: Yours entirely — delete it anytime from your browser settings
- No tracking cookies: No need to opt out of analytics
- Account holders: You have the right to access, correct, export, or permanently erase your account data at any time — use the account panel inside the app, or contact us
- Withdraw consent: Delete your account to remove all cloud data and withdraw consent immediately
- Supervisory authority: If you have concerns about how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country of residence
Changes to This Policy
We'll update this policy if our privacy practices change. Continued use means you accept any updates.
