Refund Policy

Effective Date: August 2026

Try before you pay

Every Try Swiss Knife tool works on the free plan, and most of what the paid plan offers is something you can get a feel for before you pay for more of it.

That is why we do not run a separate trial, and why we do not normally offer refunds. If you are unsure whether a paid plan is worth it, spend some time on the free one first.

Who you are buying from

Paid plans are sold by Paddle.com Market Ltd, acting as our merchant of record. Paddle takes the payment, issues the receipt, and handles any tax that applies.

Your bank statement will show Paddle, not Try Swiss Knife. If you see a charge you do not recognise, that is what it is. Please email us before contacting your bank — we can sort it out much faster.

Your right to a refund

Because Paddle is the merchant of record, the statutory refund and cancellation rights that apply where you live are handled by Paddle, under Paddle's refund policy. Nothing on this page takes those away.

Passes

A pass buys access for a fixed period — one month or three months. There is no recurring charge, so there is nothing to cancel.

Beyond that, we do not normally refund a pass once it is bought.

Subscriptions

You can cancel at any time from your account page. Cancelling stops the next payment. You keep everything you paid for until the end of the period you already paid for.

Beyond that, we do not normally refund a payment already taken.

When we will make it right

Some things are our problem, not yours. Email us and we will fix them:

  • A feature you paid for stopped working and we could not fix it
  • We removed a paid feature you were relying on
  • You were charged twice, or charged after cancelling
  • Someone used your card without permission

If you are simply not happy

The rules above are how we normally work, not a wall.

If you paid and it is not what you hoped for, write to us and tell us what went wrong. We read every message. We will try to understand the problem, and where it seems fair to us, we will refund you.

We would rather hear from you than have you unhappy about a few dollars.

If we cannot agree

Write to hello@tryswissknife.com and tell us what happened. We acknowledge every complaint within 4 working days, and aim to resolve it within 15 working days. If it is going to take longer, we tell you why and give you a new date rather than leaving you waiting.

If your complaint is about the payment itself — a charge you do not recognise, a receipt, or a refund — Paddle is the seller of record and can act on it directly. Reach them at paddle.net or help@paddle.com, either alongside us or instead of us.

If we still cannot put it right between us, your statutory rights remain open to you.

What happens when a plan ends

You go back to the free plan. Nothing on your device is touched, you keep every tool, and you can export everything as a .tsk file at any time — on any plan, in any state. Anything you saved online stays where it is and you can still open it. You just cannot save new data above the free plan's limits until you upgrade again.

If you are over the free plan's limits, you have three months to come back under them. A paid plan lets you keep more plans saved online, and more share links live, than the free plan does — so ending one can leave you above the free allowance. From the day the plan ends you have three months to decide what to keep: delete what you no longer need, or export it and keep it on your device. After that we reserve the right to remove the excess to bring the account back within the free plan's allowance.

Exporting is never blocked, on any plan, so nothing has to be lost. What you export is yours and lives on your device, outside any plan.

Price changes

If we change the price of a plan you are on, we will tell you before it takes effect. You can cancel before the new price applies.

Failed payments

If a payment fails, Paddle will retry it and email you. If it keeps failing, the plan ends and you go back to the free plan, with the same three months to come back under the free limits.
